Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@accuratecompinc.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

To understand the nitty gritty details, you have to understand your premium. Your workers’ comp bill is a combination of;

  • Class code: Your employees are all classified by their position. The riskier the position, the higher the cost. Your workers may be under a more expensive classcode than they have to be.
  • Payroll: Your premium is a percentage of your payroll. Your workers’ comp carrier cannot charge for all payroll, but it’s too easy to lump all payroll together and charge for everything.
  • Experience modification: The experience mod gets calculated through a complicated formula that very often includes errors, which can results in more costs for you.
  • Claims: The way your claim gets processed affects your premium. By pushing the carrier to re-process your claim the correct way, you’ll have less problems from prior claims.
  • Other credits and debits: Some businesses are eligible for credits and they would have never known if they didn’t check with us. The underwriting department isn’t always aware of which credits you’re entitled to.

As experts at all this, we’ll sift through the details of your policy and check which should be changed to your benefit.

Confused? Yes, workers’ comp is complex. That’s why it’s so likely that your policy contains errors that result in an inflated premium. We’ll step in to correct them.

But that’s all we do: correct. We won’t change your insurance policy, company or coverage.

We do NOT sell insurance. You must have chosen a great broker and he’s the one who gets you the best policy. We also don’t apply any change to your policy. We just see where your carrier overcharges you and insist they refund you.

Since your broker’s expertise is focused on getting you the right policy, he doesn’t need to know all workers' comp laws and regulations.

As workers’ comp specialists, we know every detail of how your (very complicated) premium was calculated, which is why we’d be the ones to find those errors that create unfair charges.

 Nope. We won’t ever do that. If you’re from the 25% who isn’t overpaying, we’ll just close the file without charging you.

Two reasons:

  1. It’s a legal requirement. The carrier doesn’t get to make decisions of how much to charge. It’s regulated by the state.
  2. It’s complex, so hardly anyone is an expert. Sometimes even the insurance underwriter isn’t knowledgeable enough of the regulation of every state .
